  • Ride the Trolley around the sim.  You can catch it at the Arrival Building.

  • Explore the Bayou and find the Rougarou.

  • Find the hidden labyrinth and solve the mystery within.

  • Throw cornbread at the drunken zombies in the French Quarter.  (Look in Victor's.)

  • Watch a parade!  The parade schedule is coming very soon.

ARGH what do I do about these French Quarter Zombies??

  • The zombies are meant to be silly and fun to watch.  They are stupidly drunk, and often fall down or talk to the walls.  (What else would they do in the French Quarter? DRINK! lol)

  • IF you are wearing a HUD, they might manage to take a couple points away... IF you wander into their small space, right in the center of the French Quarter where they stay.

  • The zombies are unable to leave that little crossroads area in the middle of the French Quarter, right next to Victor's Vittles store, between the homeless person and the hearse.  They just stumble around randomly there.

  • The Zombies do emote that they, quote, "eat your face" but they don't actually do any damage.  (Other than a few points, IF you are wearing a HUD.)

  • If you feel really vengeful, sneak into Victor's and get a "cornbread" off the table.  It will temp-attach to your avatar.  You can throw it and knock down the zombies!  ROFL!

  • Have fun :)

How do I play the Morte Gras game?

It's easy to play.  Before we begin, however, it is important to remember that every game has an element of chance.  You can lose points as well as gain them.  That said, the game is meant to be entertaining.  So let's have some fun! :-D

Here are simple steps to play:

  1. Get a Morte Gras game HUD.  They are at the arrival building here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Flox/128/128/26.
    - There is a FREE version and a Deluxe version, which gives you a gorgeous mask and +30% faster points.
    - You can only wear one HUD at a time, so choose.

  2. Play games.  Wear the HUD and play games to collect points.  There are numerous ways to get points (see below).

  3. Trade points for prizes.  Once you have collected points, go to the French Market (SW corner of sim) and pick out some prizes!  You can trade as many points for prizes you wish.

How do I get points in the Morte Gras game?

There are several ways, and we will introduce more as the event rolls on!
  1. Search for beads close to the ground that look -exactly- like the ones on the top-left corner of the HUD (picture below).  They rez randomly, and are mostly around the shops and French Quarter.

  2. Click and interact with the characters who wander around.  Some are called "Bead Bandits." (Example picture below.)

When Bead Bandits have a glowing green picture of beads above their heads, you can click them and catch the beads they throw, for points!  (Careful, you can only click them once per round.  Then wait until the round resets, and you can click again!)

  3. Play the games of chance in the Circus / Fairground.

Here is the Fairground slurl: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Flox/40/146/23

  4. Follow the parade!  If you look closely, you will notice that the parade leaves behind beads (as all Mardi Gras parades do).  Hurry to click them for points--they don't last long. :)

How do I enjoy the parade?

The Mardi Gras parade circles through the sim every hour.  It starts at the center road, between the Garden District mansions and the ~Lantian/Flox~ store.  It slowly winds all through the sim following the brick roads.  The entire circuit takes about 30 minutes.  When finished, the parade then rests for 30 minutes, and starts again.

There are four floats with glittering lights,  four "Skeleton Krewe" performer-groups with instruments, and a large cluster of Parade Goers who walk and dance along at the head of the parade.

Everyone is welcome to watch the parade, follow it, or even JOIN it!  To do so, sit on any of the floats or Skeleton Krewe groups.  There are different animations you can try.  Dance along at the front, or ride along at the back--your choice!
